Indigenous Resource Network releases new ground-breaking documentary on Indigenous-led forestry practices
The Indigenous Resource Network (IRN) is celebrating the release of its third landmark documentary highlighting the story of Ntityix Resources LP in Westbank, BC, as they uphold their Seven Generations Plan— balancing sustainability, cultural tradition, and innovation in Indigenous-led forestry. The Network has called the compelling new short documentary tmixʷ: A Holistic Commitment to Our Forests.
tmixʷ: A Holistic Commitment to Our Forests is a documentary created by the Indigenous Resource Network in collaboration with Ntityix Resources LP, filmed on the traditional lands of the Syilx Okanagan people in the Okanagan, British Columbia. The short documentary explores the deep connection between Indigenous forestry professionals and the land, highlighting Ntityix Resources LP —a Westbank First Nation-owned company—leading the way in sustainable forest management. Guided by their Seven Generations Plan, Ntityix Resources LP blends traditional knowledge with modern forestry practices to balance economic opportunity with environmental stewardship. The film also addresses the growing threat of wildfires in the Okanagan and the role of Indigenous-led land management in restoring forest health. Through powerful interviews and on-the-ground footage, tmixʷ: A Holistic Commitment to Our Forests highlights Indigenous leadership, innovation, and resilience in the forestry industry.
