Stewards of the Forest: A New Documentary Spotlights Indigenous Forestry Workers

Calgary, AB – The Indigenous Resource Network (IRN) is proud to announce the release of "Stewards of the Forest: Indigenous Leadership in Forestry," a ground-breaking documentary that explores the unique stories of Indigenous forestry workers and their commitment to sustainability and economic reconciliation within the forestry industry.

"We're excited to share these inspiring stories that reflect the heart of Indigenous leadership in the forestry sector," said John Desjarlais, Executive Director at IRN. The first part of the documentary features interviews with Indigenous forestry workers, business owners, and community leaders from Squamish who share their insights on the importance of sustainability and the growing role of Indigenous people in the resource industry. Viewers will learn about the challenges these communities face and how they are overcoming them with innovation, resilience, and a deep respect for the land.
